Last week, businessmen and industry representatives from Marabá attended the course “How to reduce your electricity tariff?”, Promoted by the Federation of Industries of Pará (FIEPA), through the Associative Development Program (PDA). On the occasion, the impacts of electric energy on the industry’s competitiveness and opportunities for cost reduction in the sector were addressed. It was also presented the composition of an energy bill, the foundation of each tariff and its reflexes on the final cost of the electric bill. The objective was to guide course participants on how to proceed to hire the most appropriate service from the concessionaire for their business.
SINOBRAS was represented by its Maintenance Manager, Hulmer Lamego, Electrical Engineer, Deive França, and Environment analyst, Jacqueane Martins. According to Lamego, understanding this composition of structuring the energy bill will serve as a basis for the entrepreneur to seek assertiveness when opting for the type of contracting geared to his business. “With the guidelines given, I believe that the entrepreneur will know which group, subgroup and tariff modality his business needs, and what his real need for demand and consumption is, thus avoiding unnecessary fixed cost and risk of fines for not associating the contractor of concessionaire its operational energy needs, ”he said.
For Deive França, one of the main gains of the course was to make companies aware of the power of associativism and of the importance of stimulating the collective action of entrepreneurs, through the FIEPA system, to influence the processes of readjustment and revision of electricity tariffs. France advised: “In August 2015 there will be a further increase in energy concessionaires, and it is up to industry representatives to come together to assess whether the information contained in CELPA’s tariff increase request and the data presented as justification are correct” .
During the event, issues such as costs for the generation of various types of energy, composition of tariffs, amount of charges that are charged to the energy bill and reasons for the great increase in energy tariffs in recent months were also addressed.
