The residents of the Liberdade neighborhood and its surroundings had the opportunity to participate, last Saturday, May 24, in the 1st cultural exhibition promoted by the Instituto Hozana Lopes de Abreu. The event was attended by theater, dance and circus groups formed by children and adolescents from the community.
Supported by SINOBRAS, through the WMA Institute, the entity works directly to rescue children and adolescents at social risk through cultural training. According to Lara Borges, the institution’s coordinator, only with much effort and will it is possible to carry out activities like this and maintain the institution.
“It is a great happiness to be able to hold a cultural exhibition like this for the first time, especially on the street and in front of the Institute. We have been doing this work here in the neighborhood for eight years and now with the help of SINOBRAS we are managing to do a more effective job ”, celebrated Lara.
Dance, performing arts and circus sketches were part of the program, which brought together dozens of people. According to Lara, another nine culture shows are scheduled to take place throughout the year.
