About to complete 38 years of operation in the steel market, on October 15th, Grupo Aço Cearense celebrates the strength of its companies in the country’s economic scenario and the correct and responsible socio-environmental performance that has always guided its work.
By aligning its businesses with a socially engaged management, it enhances and expands actions to fight poverty and marginalization, contributing to the development of Ceará and Pará, where SINOBRAS is located. To support this work, the Group relies on Instituto Aço Cearense, responsible for all its social, educational, sporting and environmental actions.
One of the institutions that started to count on the Institute’s support, since October 2016, is Junior Achievement (JA) Ceará, a non-profit educational association, maintained by the private sector, which aims to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit in young people, by through the “Aprender-doing” method, pioneering in financial education, preparation for the job market and entrepreneurship, generating paths for employability and job creation.
Founded in April 2005, with headquarters in Fortaleza, JA Ceará offers 25 educational programs aimed at entrepreneurship, benefiting children, teenagers and adults. Through its technology, it seeks to provide a new educational understanding, incorporating entrepreneurship into the curriculum of elementary, secondary and university education.
By 2016, the association reached 46,500 students benefited from 320 schools, including private and public schools, and 2,261 volunteers and mentors of the methodology from partner companies and universities throughout the state.
As one of the sponsors of Junior Achievement Ceará, Instituto Aço Cearense contributes to the maintenance of activities in favor of training young people and, consequently, for the future of the entrepreneurial class, the economy of the state and the country.
