Directly from Caucaia to the world, the athlete of Ceará, Jonathan Benvindo, is confirmed as one of the Brazilian representatives in the South American Karate Championship, which will take place from April 22 to 28 in Bolivia. Today, almost 17 years old, the athlete sponsored by Instituto Aço Cearense has been practicing karate since the age of seven.
Last week, Jonathan was in Brasilia participating in the national team, ensuring a place in the Brazilian National Team and the South American Championship. Also in Brasilia, he also competed for the final in the Brazilian Championship, where he reached 1st place, guaranteeing a place to represent Ceará in October in Rio Grande do Sul.
Jonathan already counts more than 200 medals in state, national and international championships and is part, for the 3rd time, of the Brazilian Selection of Karate in the Junior Category – 55k. For his mother, Valéria Benvindo, all the effort is being compensated. “Jonathan has been training since childhood and is now reaping the fruits of his effort. Thank God, we have the support of Instituto Aço Cearense to help make this effort a reality, because the institution is the only sponsor of it and without this support, none of this would be possible “, proud mother.v
