The athlete sponsored by Instituto Aço Cearense and also a driver for SETRAN at Aço Cearense Comercial is back in cycling competitions. After a few months without participating due to the pandemic, the tests were resumed in Ceará and Gilberto Silva already has something to celebrate. First placed in the Horto de Ciclismo Challenge, which took place on August 23, the athlete is already among the first in the ranking of the Ceará Championship.
The Horto Challenge, a race held in the city of Maranguape, became a stage for the Cearense XC Championship (Cross-country – mountain bike cycling), and, with the victory, Gilberto started to occupy 3rd place in the Ceará ranking . According to the cyclist, even with the pandemic, he did not stop training. “As cycling is an individual sport, I continued to train a lot and prepare for the return of the events. I am happy that the competitions are returning safely and that my effort is being rewarded ”, highlights Gilberto, who is waiting for the schedule of the next events of the Ceará Championship to define his future participation.
