Women’s Day is celebrated with debate and recognition actions by Grupo Aço Cearense

Monday March 8th, 2021

International Women’s Day is a time of awareness and reflection on women’s struggle for equality. The Aço Cearense Group understands that it is essential to address respect for and recognition of women’s causes. In this sense, in celebration of the date, celebrated on March 8, the Group prepared actions aimed at its employees, as a way to bring, within the work environment, important discussions about gender and female protagonism.

Since the beginning of the month, all employees will have the opportunity to exalt and recognize the talents of the women who are part of the daily routine of the Aço Cearense Group. The “We are Grateful, Women” campaign will take messages of support and affection from coworkers in recognition of the women who work in the Group’s companies, through the intranet.

On March 8, Milena Monteiro, National Leader in the Social Assistance area of the Justiceiras Project, will be invited to a virtual meeting with the employees of the Group’s companies. The meeting will be mediated by a representative of the Human Resources sector and will have the theme “Violence against women” as a way to raise public awareness about such an important topic. The Justiceiras project was conceived in the midst of concern with the increase in cases of domestic violence during social isolation.

According to Cinthia Cavalcanti, director of organizational development and IT at Grupo Aço Cearense, actions like these can contribute to the reflection of the theme. “We want our employees to have access to information and to feel welcomed by the company. It is essential that they know how to seek help in cases of violence and that they understand that this violence can be physical, psychological, moral and even patrimonial. Our goal is to encourage them to be better informed and understand their rights, so we reinforce the need to hold debates on domestic violence, female protagonism, among other topics that help to have a better and more just society between genders ”, she highlights.
