Gilberto Silva, an employee of Aço Cearense Comercial and a cyclist from Ceará sponsored by the Instituto Aço Cearense, has increasingly stood out in state and national competitions. In the last competition, held on the 12th, in Ubajara – CE, he won 1st place in the elite category of the Copa Ibiapaba, by the ranking of Ceará and by the Brazilian. On February 12th he competed in Pacajús-CE, receiving the Councilor J. Neto Trophy, and was also 1st in the Promotional Race. In Aracati, he competed in the Desafio dos Ventos and once again got the first place on the podium, on the 5th of the same month.
In January of this year, the athlete participated in the traditional Piocerá 2017 race, a rally held in the states of Ceará and Piauí, valid for the national ranking, where he got the 4th place. The athlete’s current position is the 3rd place in the national ranking and in the State he is the leader.
Gilberto travels all over Brazil in official cycling competitions, both as a paracyclist in the C5 category, and as an elite cyclist, since his physical disability allows him to compete in both modalities. His next competition valid for the national ranking will take place on May 7th, in Piauí, at Hally 40 Graus.
