More than 60 employees in the production and maintenance area of Aço Cearense were certified in Autonomous Maintenance in a course promoted by the company. Last Monday (28), the company concluded the project that seeks to develop in its employees a sense of continuous improvement and increased reliability with a focus on the maintenance of their work equipment.
For two months, employees who have direct contact with machines participated in training. These trainings are intended to enable them to inspect, identify and resolve small failures and abnormalities in their work equipment. The search for the optimal state of the machine, through the identification of small problems, restoration and appropriate management, requires a proactive approach to preventing these problems.
Early warning of a failure effectively contributes to the safety of those who operate the equipment. Gustavo da Silva, stainless steel operator, sees the project as an incentive for learning. “This training and this ‘freedom’ that the company gives us means confidence in the work we do”, says the operator who has been at Aço Cearense for 13 years. “It’s at times like this that we see how our work is valid. After being part of the Autonomous Maintenance project, I opened my eyes to other possibilities”, adds the employee.
