Thursday August 6th, 2020

Today (August 6) the National Day of Education Professionals is celebrated, marking a moment of appreciation and recognition for the employees of the area. Believing that education is the best possible way to change the world, the Aço Cearense Group recognizes and congratulates all professionals dedicated to teaching in the country. Thus, the Group supports and finances numerous actions focused on promoting education.

Among the projects that the GAC promotes is EducaAço, which allows the completion of elementary and high school, free of charge, for its employees. In partnership with SESI, Aço Cearense Industrial receives, once a week, professors at the company, in rooms equipped with multimedia and didactic material included. In addition, the employees of Aço Cearense Comercial can also go to the Association of the Blind of the State of Ceará, a partner of the Group, to have classes every day. All students receive didactic material from the company, as well as assistance with transport and uniforms. The EducaAço project has been operating in companies since 2013 and has already benefited 414 employees.

The Group also promotes, annually, in all its companies the Educational Project. Carried out since 2010, the project aims to raise the awareness of employees’ children about the importance and appreciation of education in the school period. Students from public and private schools who obtain an overall final grade above 8.0 in the academic year can participate in the project. Enrolled students, who reach this average, earn a certificate, school supplies to support their studies and participate in an innovation experience to enhance their knowledge.

The Aço Cearense Institute, which works on the Group’s social issues, also supports several institutions in Pará and Ceará, with a focus on education. According to Rosemeire Matos, president of Instituto Aço Cearense, among the initiatives stands out Junior Achievement, an international, non-profit association, founded in 1919 in the United States and present in 124 countries. “The association aims to build a new culture in school and academic education and offers resources for young people to become an entrepreneur.

It was founded in Ceará, in March 2005, with headquarters in Fortaleza, and offers a grid of 25 educational programs focused on entrepreneurship, benefiting children, teenagers and adults across Ceará. More than 132 thousand young people and 3,300 volunteers have already passed through the institution and its social technology has already benefited 71 municipalities in Ceará ”, explains the president.
