The rainy season is coming and with it arboviruses, diseases transmitted by insects, which proliferate in greater numbers at this time of year. To help its employees better understand the diseases, their forms of transmission and how to protect themselves, Grupo Aço Cearense promoted a cycle of lectures on the subject.
Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya were the topics covered by the occupational physician, Fernanda Rocha, and the nurses of Preventive Medicine at Hapvida, Leonardo Cardoso and Maria Janaína Marques. For the participants, it was very important to know how to proceed at this time when diseases are more frequent in our city. “The lecture was important because it brought more knowledge for us to take care of ourselves and prevent diseases,” said André Freitas, an employee in the Services area at Aço Cearense Comercial.
The last lecture took place on January 11 and was attended by 150 employees. According to Katarina Lima, Occupational Nursing Technician at Aço Cearense Industrial, the lecture enabled employees to learn about caring for the home and business environments to eliminate mosquitoes, helping to maintain everyone’s health. “Our objective is to make employees aware of diseases transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito and reinforce prevention measures that involve the elimination of possible outbreaks of the transmitting mosquito”, explained Katarina.
